Colocation for a CDN node in Europe: real 2026 prices, hub by hub
Official price lists from Amsterdam, Frankfurt and London compared for anyone evaluating a CDN node. In Marseille and Warsaw, colocation prices aren't public.

Anyone needing to set up a CDN node outside Italy almost always starts with the same question: how much does a rack, or even just a few units, really cost in the major European interconnection hubs. The answer varies considerably from one provider to another and, above all, from one city to another: not all markets publish a price list that can be read and compared.
Frankfurt: the most transparent price list
Frankfurt remains the hub with the most public retail offering. On Leaseweb's online price list, a 1U rack unit with 1 Amp of power and unmetered bandwidth at 100 Mbps costs €99.45 a month, while a full 46U rack with 25 Amps available comes to €2,331.40 a month, excluding VAT. An intermediate 3U configuration with 3 Amps costs €211.95 a month, excluding VAT. In the same market, Intercolo offers a single server rack at €99 a month and a full rack at €649 a month, as shown on its Frankfurt colocation price list. The site hosting it is also one of the nodes with the largest presence of network operators, a feature that carries weight when deciding where to place a CDN node.
Amsterdam: the most fragmented market on price
In Amsterdam, public prices range from budget to professional tiers. Etheron starts at very low figures: 1U in a shared rack at €40/month, 2U at €50/month, a third of a rack at €275/month, half a rack at €350/month, and a full rack with independent data centre access at €650/month, with power, traffic and uplink included rising as you move up through the tiers. HostKey, also in Amsterdam, sells a half rack of 23U at €500/month and a full 48U rack at €800/month. On Leaseweb's price list, by contrast, a 1U with 1 Amp in Amsterdam costs €115.25 a month. The wide range depends mainly on included power and SLA level, not on physical space alone.
London: the most expensive full rack in the group
In London, a direct comparison is only possible for a full rack: on Leaseweb, a 46U rack with 25 Amps in London costs £1,872.30 a month, excluding VAT.
Marseille and Warsaw: no public price list
Our original shortlist also included Marseille and Warsaw. We couldn't pin these down with a verifiable figure: the two largest data centres we checked, Beyond.pl in Poznań/Warsaw and Atman in Warsaw, sell colocation only wholesale, by whole suites or cages, with no public price list for individual U or rack units. For Marseille, and for "secondary" markets in general, the only available data point is an order of magnitude covering the whole of France: a full rack in France costs, in 2026, between €550 and €1,400 a month, a figure reported on the Datalok blog, with no breakdown by individual city. In practice, there's nothing public we can cite for these two hubs without making it up: a direct quote from the provider is required.

We're not publishing figures on latency to Italy: we haven't measured it in the lab, and we haven't found a primary source with reliable, comparable figures hub by hub. Anyone needing to decide where to place a node would do well to measure it themselves, with a real ping or traceroute from their own AS to the candidate points of presence, before signing an annual contract.
