Cloudflare Logpush: SQL Transformers now GA, pay-per-use pricing from $0.04/GB

Cloudflare has made Logpush Transformers generally available, along with opening Logpush to all self-serve plans. For those exporting logs to SIEM, storage or analytics platforms, one key aspect has changed: filtering, redacting sensitive data and reshaping records now happens within the export pipeline, without needing a separate ETL service to install and maintain.

How the Transformer works

A Transformer is a SQL query written for a specific Logpush dataset, which references the fields of that dataset and defines which records and fields Logpush should export. The logic is straightforward: Logpush applies the query to each batch before export. Records that don't satisfy the WHERE clause are removed. For the remaining records, the SELECT output becomes the exported record, and the transformed result is exported in NDJSON format.

Activation is handled from the dashboard: open Transformer Studio from the Logpush page, choose the dataset, write and test the query on a sample record, save it and link it to a Logpush job compatible with the same dataset.

The engine under the hood

Cloudflare has chosen Apache DataFusion, a Rust-based engine built on Arrow, integrated directly into the delivery service (Bufstream) rather than Workers, to avoid a network call in the export path. A detail useful for those evaluating production impact: the behaviour is fail-closed, meaning if the transformation fails the job does not proceed and doesn't send raw data in place of the transformed data, retrying with exponential backoff.

Pricing in effect

Free, Pro and Business plans can activate Logpush in self-service; Enterprise accounts remain on dedicated commercial terms. From the official price list, effective 30 September 2026:
