Cloudflare, bilancio della Birthday Week 2026: 46 annunci in cinque giorni

Cloudflare closed out the week of its sixteenth birthday with a round-up published on its official blog: 46 announcements spread across five days, each dedicated to a different theme. For anyone administering servers and services on Cloudflare, it's worth separating the marketing noise from the news that actually affects day-to-day operations.\n\n## The structure of the week\n\nMonday's focus was open source, Tuesday covered application security and the post-quantum transition, Wednesday introduced new economic models for the Internet of agents, Thursday saw the Developer Platform expand with tools for data analytics, storage, AI and agent development, and Friday brought the release of features designed to make Cloudflare faster, easier to manage and more accessible.\n\n## The announcements not yet covered\n\nThe most significant news for anyone issuing or managing certificates is Cloudflare's announcement of its intention to become a public certificate authority: after more than a decade as one of the largest consumers of publicly trusted certificates, without ever having issued one of its own, Cloudflare has announced its intention to become a public CA. It has already applied for inclusion in the root programmes of Chrome, Apple, Microsoft and Mozilla, and has signed a definitive agreement to acquire an established root from GlobalSign.\n\nOn the observability front, Friday brought Cloudflare Traces, designed to follow every request through security rules, transformations, caching, Workers and origin without needing dedicated agents or SDKs. It arrives alongside eight updates to the Observability suite that unify logs, traces, analytics, alerts and dashboards with simplified pricing.\n\nThe plan announced a year ago to eliminate differences between plans is also continuing: Logpush, multi-account governance and higher platform limits have moved from Enterprise-only features to being available across all accounts. Support has been added for the Authentik identity provider, SCIM audit logging and SCIM 2.0 Group Sync, while the MCP Server Portal has reached general availability.\n\nOn the networking front, Cloudflare has also renamed its privacy service: the Cloudflare OHTTP Gateway has launched in closed beta, while the previous Privacy Gateway becomes Cloudflare OHTTP Relay, to distinguish between the two products.\n\nMany of the other 46 announcements — including Workers KV Instant, ML-KEM/ML-DSA support in Workers, the K2 event queue and the speed record across 74% of top networks — had already been covered individually in previous weeks.\n
